Lviv is a city I was not expecting to find in Ukraine. Upon arriving I discovered it full of cobblestone streets, ornate architecture, picturesque cablecars, and beautiful patina domed bell towers. The beauty of this place felt as though I’ve stepped back in time to the golden days in Paris; long before it was overrun with tourists and Starbucks. Many people, including myself, never had Ukraine on their travel radar and unrightfully so. I spent two magical weeks there with my friends at Cobblestone Freeway Tours exploring this picturesque unknown destination and I’m SO happy that I did. If you’re ever lucky enough to visit this beautiful UNESCO Heritage Site here’s what I recommend!
Get lost in the alleyways, exploring all of the architecture
Stock on up some traditional embroidered shirts to wear (yes, they still wear them!)
Stay in a cute hotel in downtown! My favorites were the Rius and Vintage Boutique
Check out Lviv Handmade Chocolates for some of the best chocolates/milkshakes ever
Duck into one of their many beautiful Cathedrals
Check out the outdoor market at Staryi Reno Square for some cool vintage finds
EAT EVERYTHING. The food here was SO. GOOD.
Head to the Lviv Beer Museum to hear about the amazing history of beer in Lviv… oh and sample it of course!
Have a glass of the locally made cherry vodka at my favorite- ‘The Drunken Cherry’
Climb the bellower at the city hall for the most picturesque views of all time of the beautiful Lviv
Attend an Opera at the beautiful Opera house
Duck in a cute cafe to get caught up on their amazing coffee culture… they take it seriously!
Head over to Lviv Caramel for a candy making class
Take a scenic hike up to High Tower for great views of the city below
Explore all the different beautiful neighborhoods
Stroll down the famous Rynok Square
Have fun! This city is not only beautiful but the people are so sweet and welcoming to tourists. You’ll make so many friends as well as memories.
